What is The Emergency Broadband Benefit?
The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program that will provide a temporary discount toward broadband service for eligible households. The program was designed to help Americans stay connected during the pandemic. HughesNet is glad to join in this program to help connect customers facing financial hardships.
How much can I save?
Infrastructure legislation has allocated $65 billion to the Emergency Broadband benefit, for the purpose of connecting limited means customers during the health emergency. While we don't know how long the temporary monthly discount will last, existing customers should apply now for savings of up to $50 per month, $75 on Tribal lands. Existing customers should contact HughesNet Customer Care at 1-866-347-3292 to verify eligibility, provide plan details and sign you up for the EBB discount.
Who is eligible for these discounts?
HughesNet customers may be eligible for discounts as a result of association with a variety of programs, including Pell Grants, School lunch and Breakfast programs, and income at or lower than 135% of the local poverty level. I'm an eligible HughesNet Customer. How do I get my discount?
Effective July 1, current HughesNet® customers who have been approved for the EBB Program can call HughesNet Customer Care to enroll for the discount on their service plan. We expect to be able to enroll new customers later this month.
I'm discount eligible. Can I afford new HughesNet Service?
Yes, service packages in many service territories currently start at $69.95 per month, before the EBB discount is taken. Customers with good credit will likely be offered an equipment lease offer, and often receive free standard professional installation as well as special promotional pricing. Others may need to acquire the equipment in lieu of monthly lease fees.
